SPORTS AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS AT MSALATO SECONDARY SCHOOL 2022
Apart from the fact that Msalato secondary school is having high academic performance, it is also a fact that it is competent in social, sports and games sphere.
This article explores a new empirical approach to explain some activities experienced by the talented students of Msalato secondary school toward their gifts and talents including sports and social activities. Social, sports and games activities are very important and useful to Msalato students as they develop Teamwork skills which are important life skills in improving their confidence and employability, and making it easier to make and keep good friends. On the other side, exercises are vital for good mental and physical health to help them fit enough to keep up with their academic performances.
As far as creativity is concerned, Msalato students are innovative and have talents in various things. Some have artistic instincts such as singing, dancing, drawing and designing. The school has been supportive as they have fixed a school's"talents day" and school" Bonanza " in the school calendar to support and enhance the talents of these students.
Nevertheless, the students here have the sports spirit. They take part in different games like football, volleyball, netball, basketball, table tennis and athletics. Msalato secondary school has been able to support and nurture their students' sports spirit as they have been participating in different competitions such as UMISSETA competitions, inter-school competitions And staff-students competitions. On Mondays and Thursdays, students have a physical fitness exercises routine. There's also root match and jogging routines on Saturdays and Wednesdays to ensure activeness of students and build positive social relationships between students and teachers.
Msalato is, therefore, a home where dreams can become true and talents can be developed.
Sports and social affairs have contributed to the following positivity at Msalato girls' secondary school:
- Sports and social affairs have helped Msalato secondary school students nurture their physical, social and emotional health as well as the intellectual side. In addition, participating in sports can be a helpful way of reducing stress and increasing feelings of physical and mental well-being, as well as fighting against juvenile delinquency, conflict and aggressive outbursts. The point is to keep the body in good health in order to be able to keep their minds strong and clear.
- Sports and social affairs have inculcated qualities like leadership, discipline, sharing, teamwork, honesty, team spirit, tolerance and much more among Msalato students.
- Sports and social affairs have been able to bring Msalato students together regardless of their ages, economic status, religion, culture, or colour. Playing sports enables them to create friendships they otherwise might not have formed.
- Sports and social affairs have helped Msalato students to view competitions on and off the field as opportunities to learn from their success and failure. In addition, losing often motivates Msalato students to work even harder for next time.
